Convention 2010 A Few More Pics

Just a little more Convention stuff. There is just so much that happens at Convention that it's hard to trim it down to just a few pics.

Every year at Convention there is a Prize Patrol giving away free stuff. At check in when we get our bags full of free stamps and a catalog and pin and other goodies, there is a lanyard to hold your name tag and a wrist band that is used for freebies. During Prize Patrol a wrist band is put up on the screen and everyone that has that wristband gets free goodies, stamps set, bundles of goodies. I have been three times and haven't won yet, but every year someone in our group wins. This year Vita and Donna won and I think Jan and Janeese did too.  Maybe I need to rub elbows with them so that luck rubs off! 

The music is awesome at Convention and you just can't be still.  Here are Jan and Janeese cutting a rug on the Cotten Eyed Joe. I used to know how to do that but I am getting old and have to be retrained constantly. LOL!

 

As I said, the music is always awesome!  This group was outstanding on the theme song, which is now on the Stampin' Up! website for download for all demos. I can't wait until I get my Evo phone and download it for a ringtone. I am sure there is a way, right?

 

The upcoming mini has fabric that is so gorgeous that would be appropriate for Christmas but far beyond that as well. This little wreath that I snagged a picture of (not the best angle, but it is what it is) is made with some of that fabric. The quality of this fabric is awesome and the bundle is larger than a fat quarter for quilters who know what that means.  More on that later.  Isn't this wreath just so pretty!  Just  my style.

OK, off to finish cutting paper for my fun class tomorrow night using the new Builder Wheel. It holds one to three slim wheels and has a tri-color cartridge for some really fun wheeling!

Convention 2010 Oh My!

Home Sweet Home! I returned from Convention 2010 yesterday. What a ride!  Such energy, such excitement, so many business tips, and free stamps, free designer paper, free ink, free glitter. Swaps are something we do a lot at Convention which means, you make as many cardfronts as you want to bring home. A cardfront is a one layer card, example, if you cut off the back of the card at the fold you then have a cardfront. I have quiet a few and love looking at them for inspiration, casing or ideas.  I will post a few as the days go by.   The first one was for a special evening put on by Linda Hansen, Diana Gibbs, and Dina Anker. We were pampered with a delicious meal to die for, then we had make and takes which were so cute! I saw my Facebook friend, Diana Gibbs. She is the cutest thing and so talented! Congrats on Founder's Circle - Diana is number 40 of all the thousands and thousands of demos! There were some faces from the past and it was good to see them as well!  The swaps I am still drooling over, such inspiration. Thanx ladies for your hard work and it truly was An Evening To Remember! My card uses the Oval Scallop die and is just so versatile that I am wondering why it took so long for me to buy it and use it. I LOVE this thing! The stamp set is Elements of style and honestly, you can't make a bad card with it! I have stamped everything with it including ziplock bags with Stazon and it looks great! See that tiny button with the linen thread tied through it...so delicate, so pretty, Bitty Buttons.  I just love them and there are punches to match!! Woot!

This next card was my swap card for a special group swap. I didn't get any general swaps done but enjoyed looking at the ones my group collected. My card uses the new owl punch and hey, I am totally in love with this punch! I wasn't sure I would like it but once I started punching I knew this was going to a fun punch! Get ready to see lots of owls is all I'm saying.
 His eyes are screaming for bling bling from our new Rhinestones that are so so sparkly!

 

And then there are the display boards with hundreds of cards and projects on them and really is a candy store for a paper crafter!  Speaking of candy store, there was a Sweet Shoppe full of papercrafted candy and it was so realistic that you were tempted to pick up a piece and eat it! Great job Stampin' Up!

And how about this wedding cake, all CARDSTOCK!! Incredible!! Less calories too!

OK, now, here is the cute cute convention bag that we get one of every year. I just love this one.

Just smart, sweet and sassy all rolled into one!  This could be my purse for this year. A catalog fits nicely in here along with all my other stuff. There were a lot of questions and comments at the airport about all the ladies with the orange bags...like we are a cult or something. I guess we are, a papercrafting cult!! Join us, won't you! Hee Hee!! It didn't show up in this picture but there is a shiny metal Stampin' Up! tag that is Melon Mambo and silver and is beautiful! One of my buds used it to put her lipstick on since it was as shiny as a mirror on one side and had Stampin' Up! in Melon Mambo on the other side.  Love. it!

These are my new favorite things, a matching tote and computer bag. I am not sure which I love more!!! I love that I have something fashionable to carry my computer in and I love the larger size tote for carrying my stamping tools.

Stampin' Up does pamper us a bit. At lunch, which is always more than we can eat, there are sometimes special treats...like a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN! Oh yeah! With pineapple chunks, strawberries, marshmallows and biscotti for dipping. Yum-O!

That is all I am posting for now. My friend took lots of pics with her really cool camera that are so much better than any from my camera plus I need to get some stamping done for classes this weekend so I'll try to post more later. I had some new sets arrive while I was gone and then there are all those FREE ONES from convention. Yes, you really should talk to me about joining my team. Papercrafting, new friends, stamping, scrapbooking, FREEBIES, specials, discount, how can you say no!!

It's fun to go, but it's great to come home too. Until next year. <smile>

Owl Punch meets Word Play

I am having a great time at Convention!  Today was check in day where we got the C-U-T-E-S-T patent leather bag in Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo - it may become my new large purse!  Then on to shopping at Momento Mall, oh wow!  The Momento Mall items are so stinkin cute! I might be giving some of these as prizes along the way. Momento Mall is a special place set up for demos to purchase logo items from Stampin' Up! and is usually a large variety of items.  This time is no exception; just wait until you see what I bring home! Tomorrow starts General Session and classes and oh yes, make and takes and they are always to die for!.  Tonite we had a hippie party and it was so much fun! the music brought back a lot of memories! Twister and Hula Hoops...I didn't get pics because my battery died, but my sweet friend Vita is sharing her pics with me. Thanx Vita! We haven't learned any special news yet, maybe tomorrow.   Okay, now how about a card.

I am having so much fun with this Owl Punch from Stampin' Up! and pair it with the Word Play set, oh wow! Word Play has large dramatic stamp greetings that are just the best! I needed a card for an event I was going to today so I whipped this one up.  If I had had my larger circle punch I would have used it but I didn't so I used the small one I had on hand. Can you imagine a huge yellow moon behind this little guy!  Sorry for the poor quality but took this pic in my hotel room and the lighting isn't the best.

Convention 2010

Renee and I arrived in Salt Lake City today for Convention 2010! Yeah! This is always an awesome week full of inspiration, great ideas and so many friendships both old and new.  The weather is hot but without the humidity so it is bearable.  There are already many demonstrators here and a lot of stamping events going on. We had lunch across the street from our hotel and worked on some swaps that I had to finish up. Thanx to my good friends Angie and Renee for helping out in that department. Now you know exactly how to put that little owl guy together! Tomorrow is check in day and that means we get our convention bag, which is always a very nice, sturdy, cute bag holding free stamps, our make and take packets and much more. Then on to Momento Mall where we find all sorts of Stampin' Up! things. If you aren't careful you can spend some bucks there!  There are a couple of classes tomorrow, a couple of parties tomorrow nite with both Stampin' Up! and Class in a Flash. I know it will be a fun, full day!  I'll be posting things here that are going on so check back here or on my Facebook page. Talk to you soon!

OPEN HOUSE

Hi everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful Father's Day Sunday.  My father has been gone for many years but my hubby and daughter and her hubby along with the grand kids went out to eat in celebration. It's was great!  Now we are home and the little one came with us so he is down for a nap at this time.

I have announced my open house on Facebook and my email lists and in classes, etc. but want to put the information here as well.

Next Saturday, June 26th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., I will hold an open house for both the new Stampin' Up! catalog that is coming out next week and my new fabulous stamp room grand opening and you are all invited! I will have door prizes, snacks, make n takes, retired stamps and other items for sale so come and meet new friends and see old friends, stamp a little and shop or just hang out.

You can come and go as you like during the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There are ways to earn extra door prize tickets too!

1) Bring a friend that isn't a customer of mine and get an extra door prize ticket

3) Bring your reminder invitation to the open house (the one with the little bird on it)  and get an extra door prize ticket.

2) Ordering is not required but placing an order of $25 minimum (merchandise total) gets 2 extra door prize tickets AND free shipping on your entire order! This free shipping offer is good only for orders placed during my open house on Saturday and is not good on online orders from my website. Sorry.

It's Your LAST CHANCE!

The Last Chance List arrives tomorrow!   This is an annual list of stamps that will be retiring from the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.  It's that time of year to buy the stamp sets, designer series paper, scrapkits and accessories you want before they are gone forever. The accessories list will post later than the stamp list.

I find myself wanting to stay up until the list posts to see what stamp sets I have to pack away for my personal use that I can no longer demo in workshops and classes, but I will try to sleep.  Check back tomorrow and there will be a link on my sidebar taking you directly to the Last Chance List plus I will put a post on my blog directing you to it.

Missing In Action

I have been away for awhile, so much going on. It's almost summer and time to clean up outside. We have this wonderful white fencing around the back and every couple of years it has to be bleached to bring back that beautiful white. I love the fencing and I guess washing it is better than having one that needs painting it. Not sure I could be Tom Sawyer and convince my friends to paint it for me.

  We have also been working hard on my new stamping space which will be a generous 18 x 30 room where I can hold workshops and classes, have my downline meetings and play with paper foldy sticky stuff with my scrapping friends. My sweet husband gave up his workshop for me to have this wonderful space. Absolutely THE BEST husband in the world, don't you think? Now, what to do with all the stuff we scrunched into the rest of the basement from his workshop. I have lots of help, as you can see, from the shopping 

to the clean up

 My guys are a great team and get it done together.

The room is painted in Cool Carribean, my all time favorite Stampin' Up! color, and white. It is a bright space and I am so loving it! There is a half bath, yay! Lovat my brother is a plumber and my hubby is a contractor. Most things in this room were recycled from things we already had, like cabinets, kitchen sink, lumber, so the space was affordably done and while new shiny cabinets would be nice, these will hold the contents just as well. A coat of white paint makes a lot of difference. The floor is concrete, which will be painted for easy maintenance. There is a door going directly outside so the kids and pups can come and go.

Time to go, I have a birdie class to prep for (see post from yesterday) and much paper to cut so I will get in work mode.  Have a great day and stop in again!

My Digital Studio is now available to everyone & Deal of the Week is back!!

The My Digital Studio is so very easy to navigate and create scrapbook pages, calendars, blog banners, cards, and whatever your imagination can come up with. I am not a computer savvy person and I have had a blast using the software with my laptop.  I can create anywhere I go and I love it.  I can create while I sit by the pool and watch the kids, sit in my swing, watch TV, go on roadtrips, and because I am not a person that can just "sit" I need something to do so this fills the space and gets something accomplished as well.  I recently designed a Christmas album in the MDS and then created it on paper for a class which I will be posting shortly.  Whether you are a "put everything on it but the kitchen sink" type scrapper 

 

Or like to keep it a little more simple, you can do it with My Digital Studio.  Unlimited use of embellishments and stamps and punches.  I can put 100 brads on a page if I want to...don't know why I would, but I can!! :- )

Now, on to more fun, remember the Deal of the Week Stampin' Up! had a while back?  It's back!  and now you can get different things on sale each week. This weeks specials can be seen here. Stampin' up! punches are so handly to make tasks easier. I love the My Way Punch for fun on a scrapbook page or card.  The flowers are so versatile and can be used in many ways.  Cut the Five Petal flower apart to make leaves to go behind your flowers. Use the Trio Flower Punch with a brad in the center for sweet flowers for your projects and make that just right accent piece.
