I love my Big Shot and dies. There are endless projects to be made with them. Some I have neglected so plan to use much more. I want them to feel loved! These candles were made with the Sizzix Big Shot Flower Daisie #2 Die (item 114520, $19.95) and the Sizzlit Swirls Scribble (item 113441, $4.95) along with a little cardstock and ribbon. The Sizzix Flower Daisie Die #2 is a steel die, which means you can cut multiple images but the Sizzlit Swirls Scribbles can only cut one image at a time. I used a variety of fall color cardstock and Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper (item 115668, $9.95). In our catalog the coordinating colors of cardstock to designer paper are listed under each making it easy to matchy match. I used several of each size flower in each color. You can use as many or few as you like, depending on the look you are going for. I wrapped some cardstock around and secured with scotch tape, tied my ribbon, lined up my flowers and glued them together (make sure the circles match as you go and give them a little turn each time you glue one so they are offset and show the petals well) then tied some of the delicious 1-1/4" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon (item 115616, $8.95 for 10 yds) around it for the finish. There are four Swirls Scribbles on each candle. In the center of the flowers I put a Pumpkin Pie corduroy button brad through the center (item 114342, $9.95 for 24, 8 each of three styles). I love how they turned out and look so Fallish! Now I want to get some larger candles and do multiple flowers on each candle. There's no stopping! It's so addictive!!
The second picture shows a closeup of the flower itself.
I hope you will get your dies out and start decorating for the holidays, it's so much fun and no one else will have what you have!
