Just Buzzin' By

 Oh, my goodness, what was I thinking!  I have had such a fun time stamping with this Just Buzzin' By set from Stampin' Up! in the new catalog and have made single cards using this technique.  Why I decided to use it for a swap is beyond me!  50 little bees later I was finished.  Is this what a beehive looks like inside? These have no arms or legs since I stamp the bee on the card and then attach these bodies over the top of the stamped image and can bypass the tedious task of cutting out arms, legs and Deely Bops.  I guess bees don't really have arms and legs except in cute stamp sets and cards.  Remember the Deely Bops people used to wear? Not sure I spelled that right, but that's what the little bee antennae remind me of.  Telling my age as well I suppose.    Anyway, I hope my Upline's Quarterly Downline Meeting attendees like the swap card I made and appreciate all the effort I put into these cards.  They will, they are a talented, wonderful group and I love getting together with them, except that this meeting I wasn't able to go due to other commitments.  I can't wait to see the swap cards I get in return.  I am always amazed by my groups talent. You girls rock!

I wanted to put a little bee face coming from the hive or some glitter in the "door" to show yummy honey but it was late and time to stop.  Another day...when I am only doing ONE card!

I embossed the hive using Stazon Black Ink and Clear Embossing Powder then colored it using a blender pen with Close to Cocoa, More Mustard and Really Rust. The table is Really Rust marker. The little bees were done with Summer Sun and Bashful Blue, Blush and Pretty in Pink markers. I stamped the flower on Really Rust cardstock and punched out just the bud with Stampin' Up!'s 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  Hive Sweet Hive is colored with Sage Shadow.

Under The Stars Meets Voila

 Is this just a party happenin' or what!  I love this card I made for my husbands birthday.  It combines a couple of my fav sets, Under the Stars with this goofy bear and his racoon sidekick and Voila, the chef, because I love to be in the kitchen.  We all love cupcakes, which is another set I love, Crazy for Cupcakes but the title was getting a little long. The gifts and party hat are from the just retired Crab and Company set..I really hated to see that one go. <sniff> but there are other sets with gifts and party hats that could be used on this instead, ie. Big Bold Birthday.  I did a lot of stamping, cutting out, used dimensionals on most pieces, Crystal Effects and glitter on the cupcakes...just enjoyed myself.  I think it is a bright, fun, make  you smile kind of card. Sometimes you just have to sit down and have fun stampin' and that's what I did.    Happy Stampin'!

A Happy Heart

  A valentine that's a little different, not frilly at all.  Some red but I love the blue Pacific Point for this one. I think it's my favorite In Color this year.   The stamp set is A Happy Heart. The base is Pacific Point Blue cardstock, the Top Note Die is cut from Whisper White cardstock and the red scallop is cut with the Big Shot Pennant Die from Real Red Textured cardstock.  I love the textured cardstock. It's only available in 12 x 12 color color family assortments.  The heart is stamped with Pacific Point Classic Ink on Whisper White and cut out.  I colored the tiny heart with my Real Red marker. The heart is popped up with a dimensional. On the right I stamped the Feb 14 stamp with Real Red and I should have used my Stamp-a-majig to get it straight. Then I stamped Happy Valentine's Day with Pacific Point.  A finish with Pacific Point 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around the Top Note die cut. Quick simple and cute for a Valentine and would be perfect for that man in your life!  You have to check out this cute set on page 26 of the catalog.  it has a little tic tac toe stamp of X's and hearts.  For a child's valentine you could easily make a tick tac toe game for them.  So so cute.  This is one of those sets that can be used for lots of occasions, not just Valentines...wedding cards, gift bags, wrapping paper,  just a note for your sweetie, have a happy day card.  I love sets that cover more than one occasion.

Best Wishes and More

  Isn't this a fun little card.  We got this set at Regionals and I saw this card on the display board someone posted from Leadership.  A quick and easy card but oh so cute! The base is Whisper White and the bottom piece is Close to Cocoa.  I stamped one of the the curvy verses from the set, couldn't do without you, and then cut along the curvy lines with my scissors. There are three curvy verses in this set; ready, set, snow!, laughter joy happiness bliss delight, and this one, couldn't do without you. There is also one non curvy stamp, Wishing you all this...and more! I attached Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon to the Close to Cocoa before attaching it to the card base.  For the bird I first colored his legs with Close to Cocoa and stamped that where I wanted the bird to be.  Then I stamped the bird in beautiful Pacific Point blue on Whisper White then cut out the body cutting through the legs...too tedious to cut them out.  With a pop dot dimensional on back I placed the Pacific Blue cutout bird over the previously stamped bird legs.  Using the Trio Flower punch  and Real Red Textured Cardstock, I punched out the flower and put an Earth Elements More Mustard brad though it.  I stamped the sun using the snowflake stamp from this set set and Summer Sun Classic Ink on So Saffron cardstock and put a More Mustard brad through the center, again attaching with a dimensional.  Cute, quick, and there is plenty of room to stamp a sentiment on the upper left side making a card for any occasion.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets right now.  It is on page 55 of the new catalog which you can see by clicking on the new catalog button on the  top left of my blog. You really have to check out this catalog...it's awesome!

Just Buzzin' By

   Stampin' Up!'s new catalog is online today and what an awesome catalog.  We have such a variety of styles in the sets in this catalog. I love it!  My catalogs haven't arrived yet but should be here any day so be patient and I'll get them to you as soon as I can.  It's worth the wait!!  We have so many new products in this one as well...many more Big Shot dies, including Textur Plates and Embosslit Dies that emboss and cut out the design all at once.  So cool!!  A Cutter Bee Circle Cutter, amazing chipboard, Crocheted Flowers, Designer Hardware, Rubons, and a pack of paper called Taste of Textiles, a polka dot vellum and several earthtone papers that have a texture feel to them. Now on to this card: This set is a new one in our catty and one that, as a demo, I could preorder a while back and play with before the catalog came out.  It is a cute whimsical set. This is one of the cards we made in our card class Friday night.  My two bees on the left got closer than I meant for them to but that's okay I guess...maybe bees don't always fly spaced out.  The base for this card is Whisper White and I used the tearing ruler for the red and yellow because when I tear, it ain't pretty and sometimes that's okay but I wanted a more controlled tear for this page. Yeah, who thought you would need control when ripping paper.  The Summer Sun and Real Red cardstock add a lot of color to this card. I first stamped the flowers before putting the torn cardstock down.  They are colored with our Real Red and Summer Sun markers to match the cardstock. I stamped the bees in Stazon black and then stamped again on Whisper White cardstock and colored them in using the Summer Sun marker for the body, Bashful Blue marker for the wings and Blush and Pretty in Pink markers for the face. Then I cut out the main body parts chopping off the extending arms and legs (ouch!) and, using a pop dot for each bee, positioned the bees over the prestamped bees that had arms and legs and I didn't have to cut minute pieces going around the extremities. Much easier!  The tag at the bottom is Bashful Blue cardstock punched on each end with the small hole of my Cropadile and ribbon tied in each hole, then popped up on pop dots to attach.  All in all I think it is a cute little card.  I will have many samples from this set I am sure!  Off to work on taxes. Ugh!

My Counter Died but Guinea Pigs are Cute!

Hmmm...my counter for my site died a couple of days ago.  I noticed it wouldn't load so I contacted Michelle Laycock, check out her site here, and she fixed me right up putting a better than ever counter on my site so now we start over. LOL!  I am not obsessed with hits on my site but I do like to know someone is coming by now and then.  Did you notice the cute little matching buttons she made me for my Email and Order Online?  I love those!!!  Michelle, you rock girl!    How cool is that!   Thanx so much Michelle for responding so fast.  Now I will have to add a few thousand to whatever my counter says when I look at it. 

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to post more on my blog.  I am hit and miss, although I love to create and post.  Life with the grandkids nearby keeps me busy and I don't play in paper as much as I would like but the little one will be off to preschool before I can blink so, since I keep him often, I will enjoy this small time frame as much as possible. My grandkids are so full of life and keep me going and quite entertained.

Yesterday we went to Petsmart and were looking at the Guinea Pigs and Hamsters and (ugh) mice and rats.  He was so excited!  I was snapping his picture looking at them and then the manager said I couldn't take pictures...store policy.  What's up with that!  I told him I was a scrapbooker and I was taking pictures of my grandson.  Not allowed.  Ugh!  Guess that's what the zoo is for.  I did manage to get several good pics before I had to stop.  If I knew how to use my camera I wouldn't have had the flash go off accidentally and probably no one would have been the wiser.  Hmmm, where's that manual???

Just Buzzin' By

I have been missing in action for awhile.  Recovering from Christmas and it seems I get in a cleaning mood before and after Christmas. But, I had to stop and make one little card from this set.  I have many more in my head but I have to get them on cardstock. <smile>

Isn't this a cute set! It will be in our new catalog coming out later this month. Reminds me of Pooh Bear.  There is a beehive, the honey pot, three cute little bees and some word stamps. This card is just a quick little card to help me get through the cleaning.  Can't wait to make more!
