Under the Stars...doesn't that sound nice! And it is, a very nice stamp set (111556) from ' Up! that features a big lovable bear, a cute little raccoon, some big annoying mosquito's (is there any other way to describe a mosquito? Not in the south there isn't.), mosquito spray, a sleeping bag, a can of beans on a stick, a smore's and a compass. All you need for a grrreat time in the woods, which is also one of the stamps in this adorable set. I am not sure what kind of card this should be called, but there are 3 parts to it; the front flap with the bear battling the giant mosquito's (but about to conquer at least one), the inside of the front flap with the cute little raccoon who doesn't have a care in the world, kicked back roasting some beans over the fire, the second inside with the sentiment adorned with a s'more. Who doesn't love s'mores! We always take s'more ingredients when we go camping. The grandkids love them and I do too!
This is a card for a friend of mine with CFS - chronic fatigue syndrome (more information here).Hi Janne! I know this bear can be a manly card but I think he is equally cute for a whimsical card suitable for anyone. I added a button from our Designer Buttons, Button Bouquet (112092), to make it a little more feminine and threaded a piece of taffeta Chocolate Chip (109065) through it. I used my new Scallop Square Punch (112081) to frame the sentiment circle punched from the 1-1/4" (104403) circle punch, to You from me, from the Hostess Set Best Yet (111604). The Riding Hood Red (111348) base is framed with a bit of my favorite polka dot paper from Holiday Treasures (112469). The cat tails are done with the grass stamp from Inspired By Nature (111656) and the Double Rectangle Punch (105088) although the Horizontal Slot (105089) would have done better since it is rounded, but I couldn't put my hands on it so this one worked just fine.I cut out the bear and mosquito and skeeter spray and mounted on dimensionals. All were colored in with a Blender Pen (102845) and classic inks (Pages 163-165). I sponge daubed (102892) the blue sky and used Itty Bitty Backgrounds (101893) for the ground.

He is truly having a bad day fighting off the huge mosquito's. However, his buddy, Rocky Raccoon (my own name for him) is relaxing on the second flap enjoying his roasted toasted beans.
OK, no comments about the fire...I did the best I could since there is no campfire stamp in this set. My Scallop Circle punch (109043) helped me out here along with my Large Oval Punch (107305) and a little sponging. And last but not least the second inside with the s'more accent, Baja Breeze card stock (111352) scalloped with my Scallop Edge Punch (112091) and accented with a Round Tab Punch (108340) from the brown and white polka dot paper from Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. I hope Janne doesn't see my blog before I get her card mailed.
I just love this set but waited awhile to get it. Glad I did because he was on sale when I finally decided to order him. Woo hoo! I love saving money! I have more sales to list but wanted to post a card first. I haven't had much stamping time between grandkids, revamping and moving my stamp room downstairs and trying to get class materials together, to do much personal stamping. Hopefully it won't be too long before I will be posting more.
