SKI SLOPE

  Ski slope, no, I am not going to one, although I wish I was.  I am a terrible skier but I enjoy it. There is just something about picking myelf up off the snow over and over that makes me think I am getting lots of cardio exercise.

This is Ski Slope Designer Series Paper from the new Holiday Mini.  Isn't it B-U-T Full!!  This is one of those packs that you have to buy more than one of. I used a base of Chocolate Chip Cardstock cut lengthwise to make a piece 4-1/4 x 11 to make a tent fold. Then I used my big ol' honkin' Bigz Snowflake die and Shimmery White paper, although the sparkly shimmer doesn't show up here, to make this giant snowflake to put this card together. Can't catch this snowflake on your tongue! <G> Again, trying not to hoard my supplies, I took out one of my Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads (page 185) and one of the new Filigree Designer Brads (page 184) for the center. I wrapped a piece of 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon (page 186) around the bottom. I LOVE THIS CARD! I think I'll send this one to myself so I can sit it on my mantle. <G> 

Winter Post

Every now and then Stampin' Up! comes up with a really classic set, in this case, Winter Post. I LOVE THIS SET! I sat down and started this card not having a clue what the finished product would be.  Meander stamping I call it...paper, stamps, ink, embellishments and no plan...just stamping for the fun of it.   This is what I came up with and I like it.  I used my Big Shot Bigz Top Note die for the white and red frame you see.  I punched one from Whisper White and one from Real Red and trimmed the white with my snips letting a frame of red show when stacked . Trying to end my hoarding habit I used one of my clear buttons for the To:/From: tag. The clouds were made using a half scallop punch-out as a template and sponge dauber with Baja Breeze. The ice is Crystal Effects over Baja Breeze with a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds.  Trees, of course, are from Lovely as a Tree; what will we do if this set ever retires! Shudder!!!

I have been working on my Christmas cards for awhile.  I try to start early each year making my cards and this week I have felt like putting on It's A Wonderful Life or a Christmas CD.  Just helps to create in the spirit of the season. <G>

Fall Winter Class Schedule

I have loaded my Fall/Winter Class schedule on my Stampin' Up! website, www.marthabeck.stampinup.net as well as on my sidebar here in 30 Boxes.  If you don't see something you want, let me know.  If you can't come to my location get at least 4 people and I will bring the class to you.  Other options are class by mail, where I would do part of the projects and send to you to complete (You would need your own scissors and adhesive) or Grab 'n Go where you come by and pick up your class to go and complete yourself.  I will email directions to you to complete all projects. These instructions will be for your use only in completing the class and can not be shared with anyone else. If you would like to see a stamping class for you and your kids to attend together let me know. Happy Stampin'!

Autumn Harvest and Eastern Blooms

Here are a couple of cards I made recently.  Eastern Blooms was a card for a sweet lady that recently had knee replacement surgery.  Yes, more ruffled ribbon.  I think this looks so elegant on this card though, don't you?  You can't tell it in this photo but there is a bit of sparkle in the center of each flower.

and now that Fall is around the corner it's time to get the fall colors and stamps out.  One of my favorite sets from a past mini catalog is Autumn Harvest and I was thrilled that it made it to the Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalog!! This set is a great set to mask the pumpkins to make a pumpkin patch, although I didn't do it on this one. I like the softer look of this one using Mellow Moss and Really Rust rather than traditional pumpkin or orange, although in this picture it does look like the pumpkin or orange was used. The Big Shot Bigz Circle Scallops #2 die was used for the layering. I sponged the Really Rust one with black after stamping with the Polka Dot background. Let me know what you think.
