Wow, I haven't posted in a LONG time. I have been busy creating, just haven't shared my projects.
OK, I had almost finished my entry on these beach cards and Internet Explorer froze up. ACCKKKK! That happens to me all the time!!! Why!!?? There has got to be a way to fix that since it happens to me all the time.
I will patiently start again because I think these cards are just cute as a speckled pup and it's hot and just time for these beachy things.
The first card is a card I saw on the Stampin' Up! Showcase a few days ago by Celia Roberts. (For those who aren't demos the Stamper's Showcase is a photo section on the Stampin' Up! website on the demo only side.) I did change mine a little bit by adding a sun, since I was using the Sun Fun stamp from Life's A Breeze stamp set. Stamp Sets: Life's A Breeze-A Good Egg-Itty Bitty Backgrounds. Cardstock: River Rock-Creamy Caramel-Vellum-Soft Sky-Whisper White. Ink: Real Red-Bashful Blue-Creamy Caramel-Black Stazon-Versamark-YoYo Yellow-Only Orange and Basic Black Black Stampin' Write Marker. The orange marker is for the little bitty beak, so cute! The black is for outlining the body because you have to remember to leave off the crack on the egg shell. I thought it would be cute to put a swim suit on the little chickie but haven't done it yet. I plan to make a scrapbook page or two using this card layout so maybe I'll try it then.
Check out the shades... I embossed them and put a shine on them...they look like real sunglasses. Maybe I should have rubbed a little pink on Chickie just to show a little sun going down.
Too bad Unfroggetable is retiring, Froggie would make a great companion on a tube of his own. Maybe I'll do one tomorrow and give him his last hurrah.
OK, on to the next card before I fall asleep here at the computer. Our next guest star is Crab and Company. Don't you love this set? This set has everything...all holidays, that funny little shrimp, the shy clam and crabby attitude. Plus he has his own wardrobe...a birthday hat, santa hat, presents. How about putting some other accessories in his claw from other stamp sets. Fun!
I love my punches and I love whoever figured out you could do a sand castle from the spiral punch. Eva Davalos was the author of this Stamper's Showcase card. And I think it was the hit of Stamper's Club. How could you not love these little guys!
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip-Whisper White-Creamy
Caramel.
Ink: Creamy Caramel - Chocolate Chip - Soft Sky - So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker and Real Red Stampin' Write Marker
Spiral Punch and Word Windown Punch made the adorable sand castle (can sand castles be adorable?) and castle door. I sponged a lot on this one and I like it. The crab on the right is practicing team work holding up his sign and his starfish buddy. He must be awfully strong! <G> The wheel was used to make the background and the crabs were cut out individually. Whine whine, just cut them out and be done with it. I wish I had put booglie eyes on these eyes. That is so cute. Then they shake and move..kids love it! I'll go back and add them. I plan to make up a few of these for birthdays.
The next card was quick and easy yet colorful. Using various stamps from Life's A breeze, stamping in different colors and mounting on circles cut from the circle punches this card makes up in less than 5 minutes. Make a stack and stamp the sentiment you need when you need it. The items used for this card are:
Cardstock: Real Red - Basic Black -Whisper White - DSP from the Summer Days Simply Scrappin Kit.
Ink: Only Orange, Wild Wasabi and Real Red along with Stazon Ink for the sentiment.
Punches: 1-3/8 and 1-1/4 circle
Wham Bam Boom, done!
OK, I am going to bed. Typepad has worn me out!
I have more projects to post but it will be over the next couple of days. With three grandkids here during the day it's hard to get a lot done. I haven't even started my convention swaps so I will have to devote Wednesday and Friday to that task. Convention is only a couple of weeks out but in my mind it's still "way out there somewhere". Thanks to Vivian Swain of Late Night Stampers for the daily reminder and count down. It makes me face reality...get it done!
This will be my first convention and it is Stampin' Up!'s 20th anniversary. My name was drawn for Make and Take helper so I will have fun doing that as well. I am sure I'll have lots to report after convention plus pick up lots of ideas.
Good nite!

Your chick on the beach card is so precious! Outstanding!!!
